Free to Calibrate

Calibrate any CMM: Hexagon, Mitutoyo, Renishaw, Zeiss and more, without OEM software. Import, modify, and export error maps in minutes, cutting retrofit time and expanding the brands you can service.

Why Mapper?

Mapper gives calibrators the freedom to service all major CMMs from a single, intuitive platform.

Easy & Friendly

An intuitive wizard simplifies editing error maps, letting you offer calibration services across all CMM brands without a steep learning curve.

Vendor Independence

Liberates calibration service providers to calibrate all major CMMs without relying on their manufacturers, imports, reads and modifies error maps from both controllers and PC software.

Expand Your Business

Service additional CMM brands with confidence, opening new revenue and growing your calibration practise.

Reduce Cost & Time

Eliminate the need to create error maps from scratch. Dramatically cut calibration time and lower retrofit costs on every job.

Highlight Features

Error Map Handling

Import, read, modify and export/resave all error maps with Mapper – allowing seamless work with error maps located either in the CMM controller, or in the CMM PC software.

Compatibility

Mapper supports all leading controller maps, enabling a new level of calibration freedom.

Parameter Calculation

With Mapper you can easily calculate linearity and squareness, guided by a user-friendly wizard.

Cross-Format Conversion

With Mapper you gain effortless conversion of error map formats, following the data collection, enabling retrofitters to build or convert error maps based on their preferred format and values.

Easy Purchasing

Mapper license can be rented and paid online, with different pricing levels, based on the duration time required by the calibrator for the retrofit process.

Installation Flexibility

Mapper can be installed on any PC – of the technician or PC used for data collection.

Technical Specifications

Mapper is compatible with leading controller maps, including:

– Hexagon (FB2, B3C, DC, RC)
– Mitutoyo (UC100, UC200, UC400, UC480)
– Renishaw (UCC)
– Zeiss (C99)
Mapper supports PC based maps, including:
– Wenzel
– LK
– Zeiss

Mapper supports 6, 21 and up to 34 parameters and helps with calculating new linearity and squareness values, based on the new collected compensation values.

FAQ

What type of CMMs does the Mapper support?

Mapper supports all Mitutoyo automatic CMMs and controllers (UC200, UC400), all DEA and B&S (Hexagon) controllers (FB2, B3C, DC, RC1), Zeiss (C99), Wenzel and LK.
Mapper currently does not support old Zeiss controllers (C98), Sheffield maps, Coord3, and Metrolog, as well as manual CMMs.

Generally, no. Mapper is installed on the calibrator PC and does not require any special hardware. If the controller requires specific communication connector (like GPIB, UCcom or RS232), then the PC on which Mapper is installed, needs to include the relevant communication boards to support these connections (e.g. PCI board for UCcom).

Yes. Mapper provides a special app, called ‘XM-Comp’, which can drive almost all CMM models and collect the data, using Renishaw XL-80 laser tracker. Mapper will support API’s XD laser as well soon.
XM-Comp GUI does not support compensation value collection using step-gauges or KOBA gauges.
XM-Comp is not part of the license this software provides. To use XM-Comp, please contact us.

Note! in most cases the calibrator uses a part program that the client can provide him with, to drive the machine and generate the compensation values.
If the calibrators want to drive a CMM with their own program, written in their own CMM client, they can use our Mediator software to do so.

Yes. It is recommended to create a backup of the retrieved map, before updating it. Simply create a copy of the imported file, so in case the map you have updated and exported back to the controller, or placed in the relevant PC directory, does not work – you can always export the backup map you created on your PC.

Mapper creates an automatic backup of the original map in Hexagon’s DC controllers. Thus, after you have updated the new map in the controller, in the event that the controller locks down for some reason, and the CMM does not respond anymore, you can contact us and we will open the controller for you to restore the backup map that was saved on the controller.

We provide online support for Mapper. Please contact us by email and ask for online support. Our support team will use TeamViewer to connect to your PC and help you in real time.

Mapper license expires on the last day of the rental period, by midnight. In some cases, the license might still work after midnight, but it will expire during the next day.

Mapper does not violate any IP. It simply gives you access to CMM’s error maps and builds an additional functionality on top of it. Mapper is already used by many CMM calibration companies and retrofitters.

The Mapper trial version provides you with the ability to import any error-map from the supported CMMs, store them on your PC and edit/update them on the Mapper editor application.
The trial does not include the ability to save the updated map back on the controller. To do this you will need select one of our packages and rent a license.
