PWO SEE d.o.o., a manufacturer in Kragujevac, Serbia, was facing a critical challenge with its aging WENZEL CMM. The machine’s technological limitations threatened quality control — a concern heightened by a recent corporate acquisition.
The new owner required the WENZEL CMM to be compatible with the PC-DMIS software used across the group’s factories. The existing controller was failing and the software obsolete, yet a full machine replacement had to be avoided. Traditional retrofits would have meant extensive software rewrites and downtime.
EasyCMM partner MPT SISTEMI (Slovenia) proposed the Chameleon controller — the only controller on the market able to meet this compatibility requirement. It gave direct PC-DMIS compatibility while preserving the existing WENZEL infrastructure, with minimal disruption.
PC-DMIS integration was successful, the existing CMM’s operational life was extended, and PWO SEE maintained its quality-control processes without disruption — at a fraction of the cost of a full replacement.
